What is CBG?

CBG, also known as cannabigerol, is one of the many cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. It is even considered to be the origin of all cannibinoids. In fact, without CBG, neither tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) nor cannabidiol (CBD) would exist.

Studies suggest that it is particularly effective against anxiety, mood disorders and inflammation. Research on CBG also indicates that, like CBD, it activates CB1 receptors. This means that CBG can even counteract the psychoactive effects of THC.

What is the difference between CBD and CBG?

CBG is much more difficult to isolate than CBD. In hemp, about 1% CBG can be found. Whereas it is estimated that a mature hemp plant contains about 10% CBD.

Isolating hemp is not only complex, but also expensive. In fact, state-of-the-art equipment and expertise are needed to extract it properly.
